'Project Runway 6's Christopher Straub Keeps Busy
While tonight marks the first part of the Project Runway finale, we're still reeling from last week's double elimination.  Gordana Gehlhausen already expressed her thoughts on getting the boot for her design, but now let's hear from Christopher Straub.

Throughout season 6, we've seen the guy break out in tears when he landed in the bottom spots for a challenge.  Despite all that, he's already managed to make his mark in the fashion industry.  Well, this Project Runway wrapped up ages ago so he had lots of time to focus his efforts on being a success.

Being a fan of the show certainly helped Christopher deal with the pressure he faced as a contestant.  He was also well-received by many audiences, which he credits to being so open about himself.

"I've made myself very available," the Project Runway contestant told Pioneer Press.  "I'm such a huge fan of the show, I would want that kind of access to the designers.  I didn't hold anything back.  I'm someone who others can relate to."

Regarding how he faced the judges and what he thought of Heidi Klum, Christopher had these thoughts to share.  "The first week I was like, "Oh my, that's Heidi Klum: supermodel, entrepreneur."  Later, I was like, "That's the lady that yells at me on the runway.  I have zero relationship with her.  I've really never met her.  That kiss goodbye on the runway was our first interaction."

His experience on the show was definitely something that pushed him the right direction.  As of now, he's busy working on a line of accessories that he's already selling on his website.  Christopher's been focusing on those handbags and trinkets, and he explained why.

"Because it doesn't matter if you're a size 0 or a 26, age 16 or 80, there's something for you," he said.  "You don't have to try it on.  You don't have to worry."

Despite his success in that endeavor, he's still looking forward to having his own line.  "Right now, I'm dreaming of some sort of sponsorship to do a fashion show in the Twin Cities.  I'd love to do it at Mystic Lake -- my neck of the woods," Christopher exclaimed.

But his association with Project Runway is far from over.  Straub will even make sure of that.  "I'm in constant contact with them to make sure I'm doing everything right," he said.  "If they have opportunities they could include me in, I want to be there."
