Hailing from El Paso, Texas, 42-year-old Elisa Jimenez was educated at University of Arizona, Tucson where she earned her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts in Combined Media with emphasis on sculpture, performance and installation. She is an interdisciplinary artist who lived in New York City for 13 years and recently moved back to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The daughter of two highly respected artists, she is inspired by designers such as Erte, Jean Cocteau, Madame Gris, Zaldy, and Norma Kamali. She is the daughter of sculptor Luis Jimenez and head designer for Fitz & Floyd, Vicky C. Balcou. Jimenez graduated from the Arts Magnet High School of Visual and Performing Arts in Dallas in 1983, where she emerged as the Nat Foundation for The Arts most promising artist. She is also recognized by fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar, and by celebrities such as Marisa Tomei, Courtney Love, Sarah Jessica Parker, Pink, and Cameron Diaz.

Elisa Jimenez joins 14 other contestants on the fourth season of Bravo’s fashion design reality competition, Project Runway.
