Growing up on a farm in small town just outside of Tallahassee, Florida, Daniel began hairstyling at age nine, when he got a head start by doing his parents hair. He ventured into interior design, but ultimately decided that hairstyling is his true calling. To pursue this dream, Daniel attended and graduated from cosmetology school and went on to train under a company that that styled hair on a cruise ship in London. During such time, he was spending his days either in London or a ship in the Bahamas.

Going back to his roots, Daniel returned to Florida and opened two salons and started to do freelance word across the country. His third salon, which he opened in Dallas and is called Green Peridot, eventually had him settling down from crisscrossing the states.

Daniel is one of the contestants in Bravo TV’s Shear Genius. This second season of the reality show features 12 gifted hairstylists from all over the country who vie for the ultimate title of ”Shear Genius.” It also looks at what happens behind the scenes of competitive high-end hair styling.
