Project Runway All-Stars kicks off January 5. Here, we refresh our memories about the designers who’ve set their sights on another shot at fashion glory.

The creator if the famous kimono dress returns to the runway! A well seasoned veteran of Project Runway, Kara Janx has seen quite a bit of success since her time in the competition in 2005. Now that she finds herself coming back to her humble beginnings, Kara will once again have to wow the judges with her ready-to-wear designs.

Project Runway History
Kara Janx was a determined fighter during season two of Project Runway, but instead of fighting with words, she fought through her designs. Her soft-spoken nature kept her out of drama and focused on the challenges, even though she never actually won any. But don’t worry. She’ll have her second shot at those challenge wins this January against the other all-stars. In the meantime, refresh your memory and take a look at just how much Kara gives of herself for the runway. Kara Janx loses it under pressure:

Post-Project Runway
Many of the designers walk away from Project Runway with styles to be added to the endless supply of ready-to-wear fashion. Kara Janx offers that, plus a little something borrowed, something blue. Yes, aside from the party dresses, fitted jeans, fresh patterns and pops of color in her everyday wear, Kara’s bridal collection stands on its own.

And let us not forget the Kimono dress! Inspired by the traditional Japanese kimono, this particular wrap dress comes in various colors and can now be found in retailers all over the place. First seen wearing her own design on Project Runway, Kara can now call the kimono dress her signature piece.

It has been a long time since Kara Janx and her designs have graced the Project Runway catwalk. Has her post-challenge work prepared her for an All-Star season win, or will she be a little too rusty? Tune in January 5 to Lifetime and find out.
