gary unmarriedTonight, the spotlight is on Jay Mohr, who finally gets his chance to show off his comedic antics with his own sitcom called Gary Unmarried.  Created by Ed Yeager, the sitcom formerly known as Project Gary centers on Mohr's character Gary, a father who is struggling with life after divorce.

Read on to find out what's in store in the pilot episode of Gary Unmarried.

Warning: This article may contain spoilers.

Gary Unmarried opens with Gary, a painting contractor, who has recently become single after 15 years of marriage with obnoxiously health-conscious ex-wife Allison.  While dealing with post-divorce mayhem, Gary is still trying to navigate the waters of the dating scene and become a good father to children, Louise and Todd.  And while he hasn't dated since the split, he eventually connects with Vanessa, a single mother whose condo he was hired to paint.

Things change, however, when Allison drops the kids off at his place and announces that she's getting engaged to Dr. Walter Krandall, the marriage counselor who ironically failed to save their marriage.  Determined to find some post-marriage happiness, Gary must now deal with his two kids, his ex-wife, their shrink and his new girlfriend.

Aside from Mohr, Gary Unmarried also stars Paula Marshall as Allison Brooks, Kathryn Newton as Louise Brooks, Ryan Malgarini as Todd Brooks, Jaime King as Vanessa Flood, Ed Begley Jr. as Dr. Walter Krandall, and Al Madrigal as Dennis Lopez.

Meanwhile, Gary Unmarried has earned mostly mediocre reviews for its first episode.  Many deemed Mohr's sitcom as basically the same show as The New Adventures of Old Christine with a gender reversal, which is not necessarily a bad thing, although some find it as an uninspired throwback to the 1980s.

Find out for yourself.  Don't forget to catch the premiere episode of Gary Unmarried tonight at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
