Fans have not seen the last of Joanna Garcia on The CW. She may have said farewell to her Privileged character Megan Smith but, at least, she's bound to play yet another notable role, and this time it's on the Upper East Side!

Warning: This article may contain spoilers!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Joanna Garcia has booked a four-episode arc on Gossip Girl as a love interest for Chace Crawford's Nate Archibald, though her story line is being kept under wraps. The Privileged star will appear as Bree Buckley, a cheeky politically progressive, "slightly evil Miss America-type who hails from a conservative Southern family."

Garcia will first appear in the third season premiere of Gossip Girl on September 14. This casting news marks Garcia's first acting gig since The CW pulled the plug on Privileged, where she played a Yale graduate-turned-private-tutor for spoiled teen heiresses, after 18 episodes. Garcia is also known for her roles as Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery on The CW sitcom Reba, her leading role as Hope on short-lived series Welcome to the Captain.

In other Gossip Girl news, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has given some clues as to what fans should expect when the teen drama returns for season 3. Evidently, there's a rumor floating around that Chuck (Ed Westwick) is going to bring home a girl in the season opener, prompting fans to speculate that he will cheat on Blair (Leighton Meester). But Ausiello says "while it's true that Blair catches Chuck, ahem, connecting with a model in the September 14 opener, all is not as it appears."

As for Serena (Blake Lively), "she'll be motherless for the first batch of episodes due to Kelly Rutherford's maternity leave."

There's no word yet on what's coming up for Dan (Penn Badgley), Little J (Taylor Momsen) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) so be sure to check back for updates!
