Grey's Anatomy/
Private Practice crossover event is nearly upon us. It's getting down to the wire, but I managed to finagle some great video sneak peeks of tomorrow night's two-hour event.
For those of you who might need one, here is a quick one-minute refresher course on the goings-on in the fictional medical world.
In
Grey's Anatomy news, Derek (
Patrick Dempsey) is planning to propose to Meredith (
Ellen Pompeo), Lexie (
Chyler Leigh) wants to go public with her relationship with Mark (
Eric Dane). Just in time for Addie and the
Private Practice gang to screw up everyone's shiznit. Addison's (
Kate Walsh) brother, Archer (guest star
Grant Show), has parasitic worms in his brain, so the two Montgomeries trek up to Seattle, with Naomi (
Audra McDonald) and Sam (
Taye Diggs) in tow to get Derek to de-worm him. Naturally, Addison's presence back in Seattle will cause some turmoil for Meredith, Derek and Mark.
Grey's Anatomy Episode 5.15 "Before and After" will kick off the event beginning at 9pm tomorrow night, followed immediately by
Private Practice Episode 2.16 "Ex-Life."

In this clip, Richard (
James Pickens Jr.) finds out reason #327 why Seattle Grace Hospital is slipping in the national rankings. Rather than actually teaching the interns himself, Richard passes off teaching duties to Izzie (
Katherine Heigl), who has devised a teaching game for her sullen little ducklings.

This clip is rather somber. Derek exposits that Archer's brain condition is too difficult to operate on and his chances do not look good.

This may be an unpopular opinion around these parts, but I am a fan of the Lexie-Mark 'ship. Lexie is playing Izzie's medical game, introduced in clip #1, while Mark devilishly tries to flirt with her.

Here is the old Bailey that we all knew and loved. Evidently, she has definitely decided to pursue pediatric surgery, and must now endure raised eyebrows from her colleagues. I love how she snaps angrily that she smiles frequently.
Now, just because Addison, Sam and Naomi are in Seattle this week, doesn't mean that there isn't any
Private Practice drama down in L.A., specifically regarding Violet's (
Amy Brenneman) pregnancy and the mystery father.
