Private Practice

Private Practice is going back to back with its parent program, Grey's Anatomy.  Repeats of Grey's freshman spin-off will take the 10pm time slot Thursdays, replacing another first-year show, Big Shots, which just got axed.

The second servings of Private Practice are scheduled for tomorrow, December 20 and 27.

Last week's episode called “In Which Dell Finds His Fight” was the final original script completed before the writers went on strike several weeks ago.  In that installment, Cooper, played by Prison Break former bad guy, Paul Adelstein, embarked on a secret romance with his colleague Charlotte, played by Kadee Strickland.

Another Private Practice resident character, Violet Turner, played by Judging Amy's Amy Brenneman, also has a complicated, atypical relationship with Cooper.  Brenneman recently spoke to TV Guide about it and how she always had the gut feel that the show would be a hit.

Although initially skeptical about doing the series when she was first offered a regular spot in it, Brenneman now admits that she “kind of assumed [Private Practice] would be [a hit]."

She explained that her reluctance in the beginning had more to do with having been involved for a lengthy period of time on another weekly program.

"When I was offered it in March, I thought long and hard - not that I wasn't attracted to the project - but I thought, I did a show for six years and this could likely be that kind of thing," the actress told TV Guide. 
As for her character's complex relationship with Adelstein's Cooper, Brenneman had this to say: "I don't know what's going to happen, but I think that they are never not intimate, so even when they are pretending to be in a huff, they're each other's best friends.  That's what's so poignant about it.
