Private Practice: Episode 1.4, "In Which Addison Has A Very Casual Get Together" Recap

On tonight's episode of Private Practice, Addison fights for a patient that no one else believes in.  Coop makes a deal with a boy to tell their crushes how they really feel.  Addison feels slighted when no one responds to an invitation she sent out.  Violet becomes obsessed when her ex's new woman comes into the clinic.

Addison accompanies Sam to his live television appearance, where he helped a man accept his baldness.  At work, everyone forgets that she was throwing a get together, except Dell.  Showing a softer side, Dell shows Addison Naomi's Wall of Miracles, a board full of pictures of babies that beat the odds.  A woman visits with Pete, concerned about her husband who falls asleep throughout the day for a few seconds at a time.

Addison goes through her file from when she was seen by Naomi.  Violet freaks out when she sees the woman her lover left her for in the middle of an appointment with Naomi.  A pregnant woman, who can barely make it off the elevator, is helped by Sam and Addison.  When Pete hesitates to reply to Addison's get together, Sam feels he's letting her get to him.  Coop sees a young boy who has come down with mono and says he's afraid to tell the person he likes how he feels.  Coop and the boy make a deal to both tell their crushes that they like them.

Addison's patient goes into early labor and she gives her medicine to stop the contractions.  Charlotte shows up from the hospital to claim her patient, who is straight out of the psych ward.  Addison wants to give her patient, Rebecca, the benefit of the doubt but Naomi is hesitant.  Violet is brought in to give the woman a psych evaluation.

Pete's patient, Sylvia, worries that Stan is having these episodes conveniently after he proposed to her.  Coop practices his speech to give to the woman he's fallen for.  Anybody want to take bets on Violet?  You'd be making a good choice as he immediately heads to tell her.  His timing is poor as she's still obsessing over the woman who took her man away.

Addison encourages Violet to continue snooping, without Naomi's knowledge.  Coop's patient, Michael, returns bruised and beaten, after telling his crush, Brian, that he was in love with him.  Violet finds Cami's file, looking for closure.  Addison asks Pete to help her with Rebecca and also looks for an RSVP, which she doesn't get.  Sylvia catches Pete off guard when she tells him that Addison reminds her of his dead wife.  Naomi catches Violet with the file and takes it away from her.

Michael's parents go to Cooper, looking for their son, who has now disappeared.  Rebecca's mom shows up with Charlotte to bring her back to the hospital.  Addison gets the lab results back that show Rebecca is lying and gives up on her.  Sam stops everyone from taking Rebecca, to give him a little more time to figure out what is wrong with her.

Coop tracks down Brian, Michael's crush, at the skate park to try to track him down.  Violet finds out that Cami comes to the clinic with a bladder infection because she's been having too much sex.  Cooper finally finds Michael, standing on top of a building, looking ready to jump.  He talks him down and talks him through his first rejection.

The doctors came up with an idea as to why Rebecca is feeling the way she is, but Charlotte and the mother take off with her, bringing her back to the hospital.  Pete figures out that Stan has actually been passing out due to too much sex.  Violet confronts Cami as she is leaving the clinic, and finds out that the reason she came was to scope her out.  Rebecca and her mother find out that she has had Crohn's disease all this time and is, in fact, not crazy.

Addison flips out on everyone when they refused to RSVP but they told her they were planning to come all along.  Open mouth, insert foot.  Violet gets the inclination that Coop has feelings for her, but he doesn't admit to them.  Addison tells Naomi that she is upset with her for hiding the fact that there is virtually no hope for her to have children but she wants to hold out hope that something will change.

On next week's Private Practice, Addison works with a patient who is young and sexually active.  Pete tries to stop an athlete with destructive behaviors.  Addison and Pete have a hard time ignoring their attraction to one another.
