Previously on Private Practice: Cooper and Charlotte defined the terms of their physical relationship, to the dismay of Violet. Dell declared his love for Naomi, who is trying to re-establish a relationship with ex-husband Sam. Addison and Pete decided to just be friends, leaving Addison free to date a cop and Pete free to mope about it.
Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh), having had enough of Seattle's clouds and gloom, picks herself up and moves herself down to sunny Los Angeles. There, she goes to work at the beachfront private medical clinic, the Oceanside Wellness Center. Of course, she doesn't escape complicated interpersonal relationships. The new friendships she makes with her new colleagues in L.A. might be even more complicated than the ones she left behind. First and foremost, there's Pete (Tim Daly), the handsome homeopathic physician on staff, who has a penchant for kissing her with tongue.
Private Practice, which sprang fully formed from the same brain who brought us McDreamy, boasts even more outlandish medical cases than those on
Grey's Anatomy. Not only that, the doctors at Oceanside seem have even less regard for medical ethics than does the surgical staff at Seattle Grace. But what
Private Practice lacks in medical substance, it makes up for in the attractiveness of its cast. Upping the pretty people quotient this season is David Sutcliffe (
Gilmore Girls) who returns for an 11-episode arc as Addison's new love interest.
