After recently announcing that his wife and star of
How I Met Your Mother Alyson Hannigan is pregnant with their first child,
Angel and
Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Alexis Denisof will appear on
Private Practice as an expecting father – with two pregnant wives. TV Guide reports that Denisof will play prospective daddy with a case of
Big Love on the November 19th episode of the
Grey’s Anatomy spin-off. As a refresher, Hannigan, 34, is expected to give birth to their first child on the spring of 09. The two met on the set of
Buffy during the 1999 season and eventually got married in a resort near Palm Springs, California on October of 2003.
As Denisof’s character Rudy arrives at Oceanside Wellness, he comes in with a pregnant woman in tow. He then returns later with another pregnant woman in need of Dr. Addie Montgomery’s (Kate Walsh) attention. Surely, Hannigan must be praying it’s all fiction and has nothing to do with real life events. Curiously, the episode is entitled “Serving Two Masters.”
Private Practice stars Tim Daly as Dr. Pete Wilder, Audra McDonald as Dr. Naomi Bennett, Taye Diggs as Dr. Sam Bennett, Amy Brenneman as Dr. Violet Turner, Paul Adelstein as Dr. Cooper Freedman, and KaDee Strickland as Charlotte King. Along with Denisof, who has also graced the
How I Met your Mother set in at least three episodes, David Sutcliffe will still be on
Private Practice as Officer Kevin Nelson. Sutcliffe, 39, is best known for playing the father of Rory Gilmore, played by Alexis Bledel, on the CW series
Gilmore Girls.
On the next episode of
Private Practice, an office election pits Sam and Naomi against each other and ends with a surprising result. Meanwhile, Addie treats a young Afghan girl who has some skeletons in her closet, while Cooper’s not-so-great personal life catches up with his professional one.
