Prison Break signed out for its winter hiatus on a very very high-note in my opinion; we're talking glass breaking high here. I was concerned, frankly, that the show was going to succumb to one of the many clichés we've seen this season and drop us in basically a Mexican stand-off. Instead, it split town with a twist that will have fans talking from now until January 22nd, when Prison Break returns.
With Mahone and the new world order crew baring down fast and hard on Michael and Linc, it looked like our boys were headed for their last stand; especially now that spook and 'in-it-to-his-eyeballs' psycho secret service black ops man from hell Paul Kellerman was in on the chase.
In the sense of sub-plots, Dr. Sara is still hobbling around the streets with the idea that Michael is on his way back to Fox River - or somewhere maybe a little more secure. T-Bag's still on her trail and killing all the way. Sucre's plane was shot down but now he's in the Sonoran Desert, only 40 miles away from the Mexican border.
Now about that big twist... seems Agent Kellerman is a little more mysterious then we gave him credit for. I was twisting in my seat when the boys found themselves sandwiched between Mahone and Kellerman. I was dreading a 'cheat' cliff-hanger where we cut to black as a gunshot rings out, or something equally as tacky. But no... Kellerman DROPS Mahone! That's right! Kellerman is the man on the inside! As it turns out, he's up for making President Reynolds's reign as short as possible! Unbelievable stuff!
Still a painful way to leave it, so many questions, but with an ally on the inside (at least, assuming Mahone dies, which would be too convenient) it would appear that, trust issues withstanding, Mike and Linc are well on their way to exposing the conspiracy. The question is, if breaking out was the purpose of season one, and exposing the conspiracy the mission of number two, where can our boys go in season three? Will season three show us another adventure with the boys as free men?
