Apart from movies like
The Craft and
Empire Records,
Robin Tunney was popularly known for her appearance on the Fox hit series
Prison Break. On the show, she played Veronica Donovan, Lincoln Burrows’ high school sweetheart. Despite being a real estate lawyer instead of a criminal lawyer, she defended Michael Scofield at his trial, which eventually led to her representation of Lincoln. Throughout the show, she tried to seek evidence that would free Burrows while struggling to hide and escape from death threats, targeted by the Secret Service agents Paul Kellerman and Daniel Hale. When she finally found Terrence Steadman, the key to Burrows’ case, she was shot in the head by secret service agents, becoming the first main character to be killed off on the series.
After 23 episodes of
Prison Break, Tunney played in the World Series of Poker, the most prestigious set of poker tournaments in the world, after having her entrance fee covered by the online card room PokerRoom.com. She also starred in the movie
Hollywoodland, a docudrama directed by Allen Coulter. The movie, in which she played the character Leonore Lemmon, is about a detective named Louis Simo (Adrien Brody) who investigates the suspicious suicide of actor George Reeves (Ben Affleck), star of TV’s Superman. The cast also included Diane Lane as Toni Mannix, Bob Hoskins as Eddie Mannix, Molly Parker as Laurie Simo, Lois Smith as Helen Bessolo, Larry Cedar as Chester Sinclair and Zach Mills as Evan Simo.
At present, Tunney is preoccupied in filming
August, a movie about two brothers struggling to maintain their start-up company on Wall Street during August 2001, a month before the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In the said film, Tunney stars as Melanie, alongside other cast members including Josh Hartnett as Tom, Naomie Harris as Sarrah, Adam Scott as Joshua, Rip Torn as David, Andre Royo as Dylan and David Bowie as Ogilvie to name a few.
