The rumors had been swirling around the internet for months that
Prison Break's Sarah Wayne Callies would not return for a third season of Prison Break. Still, fans help out hope that the actress and the show would work out some sort of deal that would resolve the character and her storyline in a way that would make everyone happy. When Lincoln found her head in a box this past week, after fans sat through bad voiceovers and body doubles, they were outraged that this is how their beloved Sara Tancredi went out.
Contract talks between the actress and the show broke down long ago. Ready to be a new mom, she had no interest in coming back for a third season. The show did everything they could to come to agreeable terms with her, even offering to come shoot some footage at her house, just so they could get what they needed. BuddyTV readers, and fans of the show, tried to understand but couldn't hide their disappointment. "I'm very very sad right now because of the episode I just watched. It's just a complete shock for me. It's not the same to watch the show anymore," posted BuddyTV senior member Kate_Austen.
Some fans didn't mind the fact that Dr. Tancredi was killed off. After all, death is something that we
Prison Break fans have become accustomed to. Yet, something about a head in a box really struck a chord with BuddyTV readers. Junior member hemojr posted, "I can see killing off a character. But to serve her severed head to the audience goes beyond the pale. I felt like they spat in my eye."
What will happen now that Sara is gone? Premium member meimei42 has one theory. "While I think Michael will be devastated at Sara's death and want revenge, I do think he care enough about LJ to continue with the breakout and I don't think he's going to kill himself. He's emo, but not that emo. Maybe cross the line and kill Susan B or something? I could see that."
