Dr. Sara Tancredi

Born on June 1, 1977 in La Grange, Ilinois, Sarah Wayne Callies relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii at the age of one. She got her first taste of acting when she performed in different kinds of productions at Punahou School, and despite having parents who were University of Hawaii, Manoa educators, Callies decided to work on her acting career. After she completed her secondary education, she enrolled at Dartmouth College, where she acted mainly on stage and took up Feminist Studies and Indigenous Theology. She then went on to attend Denver's National Theatre Conservatory to complete her Master of Fine Arts degree.

She made her television debut on the drama series, Queen's Supreme, where she got to share the small screen with actor Oliver Platt. Subsequently, she was given the title role on the short-lived WB series, Tarzan. Her other television credits include guest appearances on the shows Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Dragnet and Numb3rs. Callies has also made her way into the big screen, with projects like the film adaptation of The Celestine Prophecy and the thriller Whisper under her belt. In 1996, she received a Young Artist Award for Best Young Supporting Actress-Feature Film for her work in Magic in the Water.

In 2002, she tied the knot with her college sweetheart, Josh Winterhalt. In 2007, her publicist Jodi Gottlieb told the public that Callies is with child. At this time, Callies is busy portraying Dr. Sara Tancredi on the Fox Network's television hit series, Prison Break. Callies is not worried about working pregnant on the show, nor is she anxious about gaining weight. All she really cares about is improving her acting for the following season. In addition, she feels that obsessing about one's weight can be mentally unhealthy. Her baby is due to be born just before the summer ends.
