He appears as one of the members of the cast in the Fox network's Emmy Award-nominated series Prison Break. Wisdom is the son of Jamaican parents, and is the middle child with an older and a younger sibling. He studied at St. Alban's School, before going on to graduate later from Columbia University in New York. He has graced the screen with his powerful presence, starting out in commercials and moving on to a variety of new features.
Robert Wisdom has had an extensive career in film. He was cast in 1997’s Face/Off, which allowed him to star alongside John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. Wisdom was next seen on the 1998 Disney family film Mighty Joe Young, which starred Charlize Theron and Bill Paxton. During the 2000s, he was cast alongside Selma Blair, John Goodman and Paul Giamatti in Storytelling. Wisdom also provided voices for the semi-animated movie Osmosis Jones before he landed a role with Drew Barrymore and Ben Stiller in Duplex. Some of his other film credits include Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Ray, The Forgotten, Freedom Writers, Mozart and the Whale and Saw IV. Wisdom has also made a name for himself on television. His notable appearances include some on The Sentinel, The Bill and a 1998 episode of Dharma & Greg. Though he accepted roles in The District and NYPD Blue, Robert Wisdom gained fame as Howard “Bunny” Colvin on HBO’s The Wire. In the fall of 2007, Wisdom appeared as the drug lord Lechero in the third season of the Fox network drama Prison Break. Lechero is one of those who rules over the Sona penitentiary, trying to enforce discipline among the inmates. Wisdom has also been seen on The Nine as Clarence Jones, and Ball Don’t Lie as Officer Perkins in 2008.
