Prison Break: Ranking The New Characters
Thursday, September 04, 2008

Prison Break is changing things up on this season.  The boys have been inside the walls of two prisons now, they've broken out, and they've been on the run.  Now, in season 4, it's time to stop running, stop hiding, and start taking matters into their own hands.  Just because Sara is alive and well (for the most part) doesn't mean that Michael still doesn't want to see The Company pay.  In order to accomplish this storyline and this showdown, the show had to introduce several new characters, all of which played significant roles in this week's season premiere.  Here's a look at the three newest additions, ranked according to how much their characters bring to the show and how excited we are about their future on Prison Break.

3. Don, the Homeland Security agent

Special agent Don Self wouldn't even make this list if not for the fact that he's played by Michael Rapaport.  So far, all Don has done is sit around and cut deals with Michael where almost every scenario involves certain death.  The only good thing he did was bring all of my favorite characters together to form this season's A-Team.  It won't be long before he ropes in T-Bag to complete the group.  I'm going to need to see Don be a little bit more proactive, maybe shoot a few people or deliver a heartwarming speech, in order for me to get behind this new character.

2. Roland, the ex-con turned A-Team member

It's safe to say that we've only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Roland is capable of doing, tech wise.  When I first read the description, I pictured Roland as just being some computer hacker nerd with no social skills but that Prison Break is always full of surprises.  Roland is anything but a nerd and instead a brilliant criminal who came up with a unique way to steal identities.  Sure his mouth will get him into trouble because that's because he's sarcastic and blunt, not because he's awkward.  He brings a Mission Impossible and Ocean's 11 feel to the show with his superior

1. Wyatt, the deadly assassin

Okay, so how badass is Wyatt?  I couldn't imagine Bailey's husband from Grey's Anatomy scaring the living daylights out of me on Prison Break but man, he accomplished it in the first 5 minutes he was on the screen.  On this week's 2 hour season premiere, he killed more people than almost anybody else on the show has in 3 seasons (his biggest rival being T-Bag to earn that title).  Wyatt has no emotion, no sympathy and no regret.  There must be more to this stone cold killer and I can't wait to find out what it is.

Who is your favorite new character?
Wyatt
Roland
Don
