Oh, how fans were disappointed when
Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller was a no show at Comic-Con this year. Our very own
Oscar Dahl was there for it all, watching fans literally get up and walk out of the panel discussion when they realized their favorite heartthrob wouldn’t be appearing. Those who stuck around, including Oscar, got to see the first few minutes of the season 4 premiere, which left many wanting more, as well as listen to
Prison Break stars Sarah Wayne Callies and Dominic Purcell open up about the new season as well as life on the set.
Believe it or not, it’s not always so serious on the set of
Prison Break. At Comic-Con, fans wanted to know if there were any
Prison Break outtakes. When you work together long hours as often as this cast does, Dominic Purcell says that funny moments are bound to happen. "We've been doing this for four years," he said. "And it comes to the place where you've got to crack jokes!" Sarah Wayne Callies agreed saying, "I think there's also points when you've been working for 16 hours and sprinting and running, and you hit a certain point where it's all funny. And then you just need to go home!"
Dominic also had nothing but praise for
Prison Break’s writing staff. “The writers on this show allow the actors to be spontaneous and give us permission to play with their words,” he said. “That is unique and gives us a good deal of comfort." Sarah seemed happy with the writing of her character, Dr. Sara Tancredi, from the very beginning. She opened up about the effects of meeting Michael has had on Sara. "I think in the beginning of the series Sara was an advocate on behalf of men on death role. She was profoundly influenced by Gandhi,” she said. “And I think now there's a very small part of her that thinks that it's all out the window. That it's easier to be motivated by rage and hatred and revenge. And if it were not for Michael she would not bother looking beyond that."
Prison Break returns on Labor Day, with a special 2 hour premiere, that starts at 8pm ET. Check out more of BuddyTV's Comic-Con coverage
