The fifth season of Pretty Little Liars is already heating up. With Alison back in the fold, in some ways the show feels brand new. Of course in other ways, like when it comes to drama and death, the show is pretty much exactly the same.

With the shocking death of Alison's mother capping Ali's return to Rosewood, things will never be the same for the once-dead liar. Her return to the town has everyone buzzing, especially around school. It's really easy to forget, but these girls are all still in high school.

What will it be like for the girls to return to school after Alison's "kidnapping" story? And seriously, what is going on with Melissa?

We don't have all the answers, but we do have three sneak peaks courtesy of ABC Family below:

What We Know Now:

The girls are back in school but the principal is far from happy. Could you imagine being the principal of Rosewood High? Talk about a thankless job. How many of this guy's students have been brutally murdered at this point?

Anyway, the principal promises to protect them from the curious and the press, but needs the girls to keep a low profile. "You won't even know we're here," Hanna promises. I'm pretty sure that's a promise Hanna has no way of keeping.

What We Know Now:

The girls are beginning to freak out and fall apart at the seams trying to keep Alison's dumb kidnapping lie. First stop is to find out if the people who know about their time in New York (Mona, Noel, and Ezra) will keep the secret.

Aria refuses to talk to Ezra, saying that she's glad he's alive but that Ezria is no more. Somehow I doubt this is the end of their May-December romance.

Next it's onto the task of figuring out a good backup story for when the police punch holes through Alison's flimsy lie. Both Emily and Hanna think Jason was definitely the one who hit Alison with the shovel and killed Mrs. D, but Spencer is more convinced of her half-brother's innocence.

What We Know Now:

Melissa Hastings is back in the Hastings house and all is suddenly right with the world. I love the conversations Melissa and Spencer have so much. They're always filled with weird metaphors and veiled threats and historical references.

Melissa talks about the Hastings-DiLareuntis feud as if Spencer and Alison are Romeo and Juliet, or in this case Borgia and Medici. Melissa quickly evades why she lied about seeing Toby, spinning a lame excuse about Wren, and then warns Spencer away from Ali and her family.

When Spencer points out that Jason is technically family, Melissa talks crazy about blood and then disappears in a puff of smoke. The Hastings sisters have the most intense conversations. I like to imagine every one of their conversations is like that, from inter-family drama to passing the cereal in the morning.
