'Pretty Little Liars' Fan Columnist: A Play That Stirs Up Drama
Tuesday, February 22, 2011
In "The Bad Seed," the girls' doubts, fears and suspicions grow as they start to wonder what evil truly looks like. Is it the girl who holds a grudge and will do anything to keep her loved ones near? Is it the new brother-in-law who might have a darker side beneath the surface? Or is it an unknown stranger who is playing puppet master with four girls' lives? Also, Aria sees the school play, not-so-subtly-titled "The Bad Seed," as an opportunity to get closer to Ezra, but trying to get closer to him has a downside.
Aria and Ezra
Ezra is the director of Rosewood's play. Aria decides to become his stage manager, so that they can spend time together while on school grounds.
After school, Byron and Ezra have a beer. Ezra learns that Aria has been looking at colleges in California. She hasn't told him though.
Ezra and Aria talk about their future while everyone is taking five from practicing the play. They get into an argument, and Ezra tells her that her future versus their future may not be linked. He also tells her that she won't want to take her English teacher boyfriend to college.
Later that day, Aria goes to Ezra's apartment. She tells him that he was wrong about knowing where the future will lead.
Hanna has to jump in the shower with Caleb when her mom makes a surprise stop at the house. She then becomes confused about her feelings for Caleb.
After school, Hanna and Caleb talk about the shower situation. After their conversation, they share a kiss.
Spencer and Ian
One morning, Spencer notices Ian packing boxes. They begin a conversation, and he tells Spencer that he wasn't surprised about what happened to Ali. He tells her that Ali always played the offense and was a stalker.
While going through a box at school, Spencer discovers a trophy with Ian's name on it covered in blood, presumably Ali's.
The girls have a flashback to a frat party that Ali snuck them into. At the party, a girl mysteriously fell down the stairs while Ian stood at the top of the staircase.
When the police get there, Ali appears by the girls. She was recently absent from their side. The girls come to the conclusion that Ali might have been a stalker, like Ian said, and pushed the girl down the stairs because she was in her way. She also may have blinded Jenna because she was in her way.
After Spencer finds the trophy, they all decide to take the trophy to the police, but they learn that the trophy had rat's blood on it. They then receive a message from A saying:
"Rat" me out, your blood's next. -A
Do you think Ian was right about Ali? Do you think Ali pushed the girl down the stairs and blinded Jenna? Leave your responses in the comments.
