Thirty seven year old Jay Hatkow was born and raised in Detroit. Fresh out of high school, he worked as an auto-line assembler and later on, as a marketing manager and manufacturing engineer. He immediately took advantage of the car company's college tuition program and got himself enrolled in a community college, later on transferring to Michigan State University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Hatkow is currently an entrepreneur who is involved in trading equipment for engine and power train test cells. When he's not working, he enjoys playing online Survivor (which he says he always wins), poker, fantasy football, racquetball, boxing and weight lifting.
Jay Hatkow is one of the sixteen modern day pirates cast off on a ship to search for a $1 million treasure hidden in the Caribbean Island of Dominica, as featured in the new CBS reality show, Pirate Master. He is a manipulative, motivational person who embodies the stereotypical devious pirate.
