CBS’
Pirate Master may be experiencing some difficulty drawing in a good number of viewers every week, but things are still looking up for the show’ host,
Cameron Daddo.
The 42-year-old Australian actor will be appearing in the upcoming film,
The Perfect Sleep. According to the film’s website, the story revolves around The Narrator, a man who must return to the city he left ten years ago in order to save the woman he loves. The Narrator is also described as someone who has “an unnatural threshold for pain and punishment,” which enables him to face opposing forces head-on.
The main cast includes Anton Pardoe (
The Godson) as The Narrator, Roselyn Sanchez (
Without a Trace,
Rush Hour 3) as Porphyria, Patrick Bachau (
House,
24) as Nikolai and Sam Thakur as The Rajah. Cameron Daddo will appear in the film as Rogozhin.
The Perfect Sleep, which is currently in post-production, is directed by Jeremy Alter (
The Godson) and written by Pardoe. Keith Kjarval and Jay Sedrish executive-produced the film under the Unified Pictures banner.
Aside from
The Perfect Sleep, Cameron Daddo recently completed work in the film, Drifter. Directed by Roel Reiné, the thriller stars the
Pirate Master host as a man named Martin. The film follows the story of four people who wake up in desert with no memory of how they got there. All of them possess surgical scars, and as they wander through the desert, they are haunted by past and present realities. After some time, they realize how they are connected, but with the realization comes the fact that only one of them will survive.
Other cast members include Gabrielle Dennis (
Let’s Talk) as Miranda, Janora McDuffie (
Close To Home,
Desire) as Rachel, Darcy Halsey (
CSI,
Scare Tactics) as Grace and Alex Nesic (
Sleeper Cell,
NCIS) as Berkman.
Since US release dates for the movies have yet to be announced, fans of Daddo can, for the meantime, tune in to
Pirate Master. The reality series was recently moved to Tuesdays at 10pm on CBS.
