California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is scheduled to appear on a special episode of MTV’s
Pimp My Ride on Sunday, April 22 at 1 PM ET/PT. This is actually Schwarzenegger’s way of promoting alternative fuel awareness on Earth Day.
In
Pimp My Ride's Earth Day episode, Schwarzenegger teams up with
Pimp My Ride host, Xzibit, as well as the rest of Galpin Auto Sports crew to make over a 1965 Chevrolet Impala and give it a "one-of-a-kind ecological alteration." The lucky owner of the Impala is a resident of North Hollywood, California named Kristoffer. His vehicle make over will consist of an 800 horsepower diesel engine that runs on biodiesel.

Schwarzenegger, a 59-year old actor-turned politician, is presently the governor of California. Prior to his inclusion to politics, he appeared in films like The Terminator, Conan the Barbarian, Predator and Junior.

Pimp My Ride crew for shining the spotlight on the importance of alternative fuels and the fight against global warming. I am very encouraged by the great potential in converting vehicles to run on biodiesel as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions," said Schwarzenegger. "I am pleased that the power of MTV's message will reach an audience throughout California and the nation to reinforce the benefits of alternative-fuel vehicles and protecting our environment."
Furthermore, the said episode will air, as part of MTV’s "Break the Addiction" crusade, which intends to educate and encourage youth to make smart options that will safeguard the environment.
MTV president, Christina Norman, expressed her enthusiasm on Schwarzenegger’s participation on the program.
