Person of Interest ended last year with the reveal that Finch wasn't the only one who created a machine and a new entity wants to acquire it. In "Aletheia," the team takes on Control to save Finch.

Spoiler alert: This article contains Person of Interest spoilers and clips.

Finch and his team may have taken out HR, but now they will be facing off against even bigger threats. If the machine gets into the wrong hands, the country and world will never be the same again.

Executive Producer Greg Plageman spoke to TVLine about the new threat, "We're going to see these various entities jockey for control of The Machine or at least something commensurate with it." And, the result? He continued, "Root starts to take matters into her own hands."

What's John doing? He doesn't come running back to the team after Fusco's beating. Plageman teases, "The loss of Carter created a rift between our guys on Team Machine as well as disillusionment on Reese's part. Something much bigger has to happen if he's ever to come back into the fold."

Check out the "Aletheia" preview.

I never get tired of  the fierce Shaw and Root. They are similar, yet so different. They don't hold back and come in with guns firing to rescue Finch and his friend, Arthur.

Control wants to find the machine and tries to threaten Root. Instead, Root does what she excels at by taunting her.

John's in jail? When and how will he find his way back to the team? They need him now more than ever.

Person of Interest airs Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on CBS.
