In the Person of Interest season 2 mid-season finale, called "Shadow Box," Reese and Finch have to help a young woman and her boyfriend out of a mess. Trouble is, their efforts may get themselves into an even bigger mess.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Good girl gone bad

The Machine gives Reese and Finch the number of a young lady who was apparently a very good girl until she met up with a former Marine and suddenly started doing very bad things. But much like a lot of their cases, there's a lot more to the story than first appears. Turns out Abby and Shane aren't so bad after all. In fact, they are trying to catch a bad man who's been stealing money from veterans.

The godfather

One very interesting piece of information popped up in this episode. Carter and Cal's date went really well and it looks like there may even be some future ones. Trouble is, Cal's godfather is working with HR (or perhaps running it) and while they may be down, they are certainly not out. Looks like they're trying to find some new options to get themselves up and running again and they may have found that in the form of the Russian mob.

An offer she can't refuse

Carter meanwhile has an interesting development of her own. Donnelly is back and thanks to what sounds like some pretty nifty tech, he's managed to track down "the Man in the Suit." So of course he wants her help but in order to read her in on the very classified mission, she needs to be temporarily assigned to the FBI. Sounds awkward, seeing as how she's close buds with the man Donnelly wants to catch. But what's even more awkward is the fact that the FBI wants her with them full time.

Happiness found and perhaps lost

At the beginning of the episode, Reese and Finch are taking part in their own version of domestic bliss: giving Bear a bath and discussing the case. Later, Reese reveals to Finch that he's starting to wake up in the mornings (gasp!) happy and figures it must be thanks to the job. Finch's smile of pure happiness in response to that statement was great, but sadly both of their happiness may be short-lived.

Reese refuses to leave Abby and Shane behind after helping them blow up a part of the bank and get the info they needed on Chapel, which leaves him in a very tough bind when the FBI shows up. Knowing that the jig is up, Reese says one final goodbye to his friend and destroys his phone. I had no idea what he was going to do next, but it didn't look good. Reese then finds himself caught by the FBI. Thanks to three other men in suits, they have no idea who he is, but it's still not good, not good at all.

Now what?

In the end, tonight's episode left me with about a million questions. Will Reese be able to get out of the FBI's custody without being identified as "the Man in the Suit"? Will Carter be able to keep up her subterfuge with the FBI and help Reese? What will Finch do without Reese? I know he's going to help all he can, but what if it takes a while? Will Finch be stuck trying to handle the numbers from The Machine much as Reese was at the beginning of the season? And one final question, is it January yet??

My favorite bits and quotes:

"It's your turn to dry him!"

"Marshall Jennings, you took his star."
"He wasn't using it anymore."

"Do you listen to all of my conversations?"
"More or less."

Reese assuring Carter that if things got heavy between her and Cal, they'd tune out right away.

"Finch are you okay?"
"Aside from riding on a motorcycle illegally, I'm fine. I'll be in touch."

"Hello Abby, I'm John."

"Who are you?"
"I find it hard to answer that, even to myself."

"Things are a little tense." - Finch trying to stay calm with a gun to his head was classic.

"You hurt her and you'll be sorry."
"Same goes for you and my friend."

"Well done, Finch."
"Especially on the back of a motorcycle, which was exhilarating by the way. I might have to get myself one." - Now THAT I'd like to see.

Fusco warning Simmons to watch his back.

"Every time we get close, he slips right out of our hands, like he has some kind of guardian angel." - If only they knew.

"I wouldn't do that."
(Shane pulls a gun)
"Or that."

Reese describing their situation as a "bit of a pickle."

"Not gonna make it, Harold. Sorry I screwed up, but I meant what I said yesterday. So thanks, Harold. It was fun."
"John?" - The look of terror on Finch's face at the moment I know matched my own.

The Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter" starting to play at that point was PERFECT.

The fact that, even though he knew his friend might very well be gone forever, Finch still was making plans to help Abby and Shane with their quest.

Carter's teeny tiny grin when she saw they had the wrong man in the suit..which then turned to fear when she saw that they had four, one of whom was Reese.

What did you think of the mid-season finale of Person of Interest? What do you think will happen to Reese now that he's in the hands of the FBI? Will Finch, Carter and or Fusco be able to find a way to help him out?

Person of Interest airs on Thursday nights at 10pm on CBS. Stay tuned for new episodes starting on January 3, 2013.
