Fans of Mark Pellegrino, Lost and Person of Interest all have reason to rejoice. This weekend, Warner Bros announced at NYCC that the actor will be joining his former Lost cast mate Michael Emerson in this season of Person of Interest.
A Lost reunion
The news of the mini Lost reunion was given to fans who attended the Person of Interest panel at this weekend's New York Comic Con. Cast members Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Chapman, and guest star Amy Acker were there when creator/executive producer Jonathan Nolan told the audience that Pellegrino would be guest starring in an upcoming episode.
Nolan described Pellegrino's character as "an edgy and charming head of a popular publishing empire," which sounds like a role that he was born to play. With previous roles such as Lucifer on CW's Supernatural, plus playing a vampire on Being Human, I'd say that any character he portrays on Person of Interest is going to be, well, pretty darn interesting.
Good or evil?
So now I have to wonder, will Pellegrino's character be that episode's POI? If so, does that mean that he will be in trouble, or the one causing it? Considering the type of characters he's played a lot, my money's on him being the one who Reese and Finch have to stop from doing something bad.
Then again, it would be fun to see him play against type. He played a werewolf-like creature in a recent episode of Grimm and though technically he was a monster, basically his character was just a man who cared deeply about his daughter. He's proven that he can be a convincing bad guy and a convincing good guy. Either way, it'll be fun to see Pellegrino and Emerson in the same show again. I just hope that the two of them have some scenes together, because it would be fun to see them interact.
What do you think of this casting news? Are you excited to see Pellegrino join his former Lost cast mate on Person of Interest? What type of character do you think he'll play, good or evil?
