Born Linda Ross on February 27, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York, Tracey Ross won in the Spokesmodel category in the TV competition series Star Search. She was cast for roles on soap operas such as Ryan's Hope and Passions. Ross was nominated consecutively from 2000 to 2007 for an NAACP Image Award's Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series category for her portrayal of Dr. Eve Russell on Passions. She finally won the award in 2007. Her other television appearances as guest include those in The Cosby Show, Roc, Baywatch Nights and Providence.

Dr. Eve Johnson Russell is played by Linda Ross on the soap opera, Passions. Eve is the only daughter of Warren Johnson and Ruby Lincoln Johnson, and when her father died, her mother remarried to a man whose last name was Sanbourne. She eventually left home as a teenager when her parents adopted a girl named Liz. She headed to Boston where she became a singer involved in prostitution and drugs. There Eve met the wealthy Julian Crane and Crystal Harris. Julian and Eve fell in love, and she later gave birth to his child. Julian left her thereafter. Eve then decided to turn her life around, giving up singing and turned her attention to medicine and eventually became a doctor.
