Kim Johnston Ulrich, who was born on March 24, 1955 in Ripon, California, has appeared in numerous television shows such as Hunter, Remington Steele, Cheers, Midnight Caller, The Family Man, Who's the Boss, Reasonable Doubts, Renegade, Highlander, Diagnosis Murder, 7th Heaven and CSI. She has also appeared in the soap opera As the World Turns and most prominently in NBC's Passions.

Ivy Winthrop Crane is portrayed by Kim Johnston Ulrich in the soap opera, Passions. Born to Governor Harrison Winthrop and Helen Revere-Mott-Beaton, Ivy grew up in a wealthy family who supported all her needs. She later met Sam Bennett, a lifeguard who reciprocated her feelings for him. Determined to marry her, he left Harmony to work and earn enough money for their marriage. Ivy's father was against this relationship so he intercepted all Sam's letters to Ivy, thus having Ivy think that he had forgotten all about her. Ivy then started dating Julian Crane, whom she eventually married.
