Cathy Jenéen Doe, who was born on November 13, 1980 in Tallahassee, Florida, was educated at University of Florida in Gainesville where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Her television credits include Go Fish and Ed, and her film credits include Five Years, Chance and Buds for Life. In 2007, Doe was cast as Simone Russell in the drama series, Passions.
Simone Russell of Passions is played by Cathy Jenéen Doe. Simone, youngest daughter of T.C. Russell and Eve Johnson, grew up in the shadow of her older sister, Whitney. She is the best friend of Kay Bennett, whom she always helped with Kay's schemes to win over Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald from a girl named Charity Standish. Simone's other friends include Jessica Bennett, Kay's younger sister, and Paloma, Miguel's younger sister. Before coming out as a lesbian, she had been involved with men such as Chad Harris and John Standish. As a lesbian, she became involved with Rae Thomas, who later died.
