Eamonn Walker is a British film, theater and television actor who was born on June 12, 1962 in London, England. He is the son of Renwick Walker, who is a native of Grenada, and a mother from Trinidad. Walker has had an extensive career throughout different performing media, and has also trained as a dancer. However, he was forced to give up dancing after an operation on his leg, and turned to acting instead. Among the television series that he has worked on are
ER, The Bill, and
Justice. Walker is also a veteran of film productions such as
Lord of War, Duma, and
Tears of the Sun.
Kareem Said is portrayed by Eamonn Walker in the HBO prison drama television series
Oz. He is a Black nationalist and a Muslim who was thrown in jail after he blew up a warehouse owned by white people. In the environment of the prison, he quickly assumed control of the Muslim faction, and began applying an extremist code of morality. However, he is also perceived as violating those very standards himself a number of times. Kareem is viewed as a dangerous foe of the Aryan Brotherhood faction as well as the Homeboy gang.
