With only three episodes left of One Tree Hill
, things are about
to get real. The big dangers of the final season are behind us now that
Xavier is gone and Nathan has been rescued
, but Dan Scott's life hangs
in the balance.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
The next new episode, "Danny Boy," is obviously all about Dan Scott as he fights to survive. The latest episode saw him take a bullet to protect his son, Nathan, which in many ways achieved the redemption he's been looking for since he turned himself in for Keith's murder.
In this clip from the episode, we see Nathan and Julian rush Dan to the hospital in the crooked cop's car, and Dan is having flashbacks to the terrible things he's done, most notable killing his own brother. It's insanely cool to see the "Murder" paint on the wall, Lucas yelling at Dan and Karen spitting at him again. One Tree Hill
is doing its final season right by bringing back classic moments. I'm already buying up Kleenex for next week, because the sight of Brooke listening in as she learns Julian is with Nathan brought tears to my eyes.
One Tree Hill
had, in my opinion, its best episode of the season this past week with the heroic rescue of Nathan, but if creator Mark Schwahn is to be believed, "Danny Boy" is even better, one of the best episodes the show has ever made. I have no problem believing that.
Will Dan Scott die? Should he? He's been seeking redemption for killing Keith for a long time, and sacrificing himself to save his son certainly qualifies as redemptive. But was the act of saving his son enough, or does Dan Scott need to die to complete his redemption? It's a difficult question, one that I could go either way on, and one which will undoubtedly be at the center of this episode.
