One Tree Hill is attempting something that's never been done before.  Instead of taking their high schoolers into college after graduation, One Tree Hill is fast-forwarding four years and picking up with our characters in the future as they, one would assume, re-convene back in Tree Hill.  This does a few key things – it allows One Tree Hill to avoid “The College Years” which always pale in comparison to the “High School Years” and it gives the writers four years of back story to work with.  This back story can remain a mystery, it can be slowly revealed, whatever.  It gives One Tree Hill writers a nice, new shiny tool to work with.  Though One Tree Hill doesn't premiere its fifth season until 2008, The CW's website has released the first in a series of flash forward previews.  The first video is a sneak peek at what Brooke Davis is up to.

Brooke is, of course, played by the lovely Sophia Bush.  And, by “lovely” I mean “super-hot.”  Brooke has become a fashion designer in the four years since graduation, a quasi-famous one at that.  She owns a fashion design company called “Clothes over Bros”, which I find to be an interesting and not altogether terrible name for a clothing company.  The clips we see are of Brooke acting somewhat bossy, admonishing an anorexic-looking model and being stalked by paparazzi.  It suits her well, truth be told.  We also see her in what looks to be an airplane terminal, so I think we can assume she's heading back home.  The rest of the time, Brooke is in New York.

There was a lot of fashion talk, which is pretty much a foreign language to me, but the producers talked about how Brooke being a fashion designer kind of classes up the show because most of the other characters are jeans and t-shirt type people.  Fair enough.  Overall, the upscale, Manhattan-ness of Brooke should clash nicely when she heads back to Tree Hill.
