'One Tree Hill' Review: This Life Will Self-Destruct in 10 Seconds

One Tree Hill season 7 has seen many characters riding high before falling back to Earth, and last week they all began to doubt one another and fall apart.  This week, One Tree Hill introduced a villain even more terrifying than Dan Scott: the self-destruct button.

Whether they consider pushing the button and then back down or if they throw caution to the wall and push it, many One Tree Hill characters are headed down a dark path.

Haley's Button
There's no going back from doubting your husband, and even though she came around and sided with Nathan, Renee was able to open the can of worms.  Haley only gently grazed her self-destruct button by not believing her husband for a moment, but there's no un-pushing it.

Dan's Button
Dan pushed the self-destruct button a long time ago, but his new life offered a fresh start.  Sadly, if he truly is planning on using his TV show to teach Nathan a lesson about taking responsibility, it looks like Dan is ready to push it one more time.

Brooke's Button
The sad truth is that Brooke is so insane, she is not only pushing her self-destruct button, she's going back in time to push it on her old self as well.  First, she's doubting Julian, which is certainly sabotaging the best relationship she's ever had since he's been nothing but good and loyal to her, even when she brought stupid Nick Lachey to Peyton's wedding.

But secondly, thanks to Chase, Brooke now sees Alex as her former self, and rather than try to help her, Brooke has decided to declare war on "High School Brooke."  That's a bit of literal self-destruction.

Mouth's Button
Going on air, calling out your own network for sucking and locking your boss in his office isn't just a great way to get fired, it's a great way to NEVER, EVER work as an on-air reporter again.  Congratulations Mouth, on taking one minute to destroy your entire career out of loyalty to a friend.

Millie's Button
I saved the biggest self-destruct button of all for Millie, because she's the most in need of some serious help.  Alex correctly called her out, using Millie as the basis for her script as a character with absolutely no self-confidence.  Millie hates herself.  She thinks that she's a turd sandwich.  But instead of listening to her sweet boyfriend who promises that she's the most special person in the world, she starts secretly taking diet pills so that she can stop being a "plus-size model."

So Millicent wins the prize.  She pushed her self-destruct button even when everyone told her not to, and it's only a matter of time before she explodes.  As for everyone else on One Tree Hill, I strongly urge you to duck and cover.
