One Tree Hill has a knack for creating characters viewers love to hate. The latest person who may fall into that category is hotshot movie producer Julian Baker, who was introduced in last week's episode. Julian came to town and convinced Lucas to sell his novel to Hollywood, but he failed to mention that he has a romantic past with Peyton. While Julian was wooing Lucas, Sam was corrupting Jamie (
Jackson Brundage) by inviting him to a big party inside Brooke's store. Peyton's wedding dress got ruined during the shindig, forcing B. Davis to lay the smackdown on her newly acquired teenage delinquent.
On tonight's
One Tree Hill, Jamie learns how to sell sugar like it's cocaine, and Lucas discovers that it's never wise to trust a movie producer.
One Tree Hill begins with Sam being annoying, which only happens about 18 times an episode. Brooke (
Sophia Bush) plans to keep the teen grounded until the apocalypse thanks to the wedding dress incident, and even receiving surprise flowers from Owen can't lighten her mood. It seems that Brooke is warming up to the bartender again, and the fact that he's now bringing her gifts on a daily basis certainly doesn't hurt. As wonderful as the gifts are, Brooke's not so impressed when she finds Owen waiting naked in the back seat of her car. He thinks it's a cute call back to season 5, but she thinks it's dirty and gross. Instead of getting all hot and bothered, Brooke kicks him out and forces him to walk home naked.
It's time for a revealing flashback! Let's revisit the day Lucas proposed to Peyton in L.A. and inadvertently destroyed their relationship. Julian first met Peyton (
Hilarie Burton) while she was crying her eyes out over that debacle, but she didn't pay much attention to him until running into him after Lucas' book signing. It just so happens that she's the one who told Julian about the book, making her responsible for this entire movie plot line. The two dated for a while and fell in love, but Julian eventually grew tired of her never ending obsession with Lucas. I'm pretty sure Peyton just has a thing for guys with super-short hair and scruffy faces, which made Julian the perfect rebound.
