It's not always that we get to see the cast of One Tree Hill toy with some emotionally gripping material but last night's episode proved to be a rare moment, and sadly it came at the expense of pulling the plug on one character. Sure there's tons of drama to go around with, although recently it's been just shallow drama involving Brulian or Clay. However, Lydia finally succumbing to her pancreatic cancer was just what the doctor ordered for Bess Armstrong, Bethany Joy Galeotti and even James Lafferty to shine.

Bulk of "The Last Day of Our Acquaintance," the 18th episode of One Tree Hill's seventh season, focused on Haley, Nathan, Jamie, Quinn and Taylor reminiscing the good ol' days with Lydia and saying goodbye to her. Although the death of Lydia closed a chapter on the James family drama, other chapters were opened.

Brooke and Julian reconciled after Brooke realized that Alex and Julian didn't sleep together and finally gave a heartfelt apology to both Alex and Julian. Then there's Mouth and Lauren who decided to go for it if only Skills hadn't interrupted them. Alex found comfort in her male costar. Victoria, on the other hand, hooked up with Alexander. We also learned that Katie, Sarah's doppelganger, is one devious psycho.

And that's that for One Tree Hill, at least for the month of February. The show returns with new episodes beginning April. In the meantime, let me know what you thought about this episode. Which parts did you like and which parts did you hate?
