Michaela McManus maybe flying under the radar for most of her acting career but that's about to change now that she's taking the female lead in the CW's spy series, Nomad, according to Entertainment Weekly. The 26-year-old actress, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Lindsey Strauss, Chad Michael Murray's on-screen love interest on One Tree Hill, is the latest to join the drama following Mental's Warren Kole and Friday Night Lights alum Scott Porter, who has been tapped to play the male lead.

What's the premise? Nomad, written and directed by Numb3rs' Ken Sanzel, revolves around "a group of nearly broke young backpackers traveling the world who agree to earn money by working secret missions for the CIA." McManus, who is also credited for her role as A.D.A. Kim Greylek on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, will play a young CIA hopeful who struggles with her attraction to her handler (Kole) and fellow agent-in-training (Porter).

My take:
Personally, it sounds a little bit like Chuck to me. The only major difference at this point is that Porter's John Virgil is haunted by the disappearance of his brother Kirk. On the other hand, that storyline may actually provide more parallels to Chuck, especially if Kirk's brother turns out to be involved in the espionage business, much like Chuck's always MIA dad. What's your take on this?

Meanwhile, the fate of One Tree Hill is still up in the air. Even though the CW president Dawn Ostroff has admitted to the Hollywood Reporter that she is encouraged by the success of the show, she asserts that a renewal for season 8 is "too early to tell."

That being said, it's possible that the Monday, May 17 season 7 finale may also be the series finale of One Tree Hill.
