'One Tree Hill' Fan Contributor: Recap- A Day Without Drama, Sort of
Welcoming back our Fan Contributor, Kristine Padilla. This time with a recap of last night's One Tree Hill. If you would like to write for BuddyTV, click here for details

After some serious drama for the first seven episodes, One Tree Hill takes a lighter turn in this week's episode.  Nathan Scott plans a camping trip with his son Jamie and his friends, Skills and Mouth.  Also along for the ride are Jamie's obnoxious friend Chuck and a reluctant Julian.  Meanwhile, the girls plan a little get together of their own with a very special guest--Taylor's famous "special" brownies.

Julian tries to wiggle his way out of the camping trip, but Brooke holds her ground and tells him he's going.  Meanwhile, Nathan complains to his wife Haley that he hardly knows Julian.  This leads to the inevitable awkwardness that ensues.  Nathan tells Jamie that when you go camping you pack light.  Someone forgot to tell Julian the same thing.

"Geez Eddie Bauer.  Did you buy the whole catalog?"  Brooke asks Julian when she drops him off at Haley and Nathan's house.

Nathan and Julian take awhile to warm up to each other.  Nathan watches as Julian struggles to put together his tent.  And then later when Julian tries to show Jamie how to start a fire by rubbing two rocks together, Nathan sprays lighter fluid right on top of the wood pile.  But it's Julian who comes to Jamie's rescue when Jamie is afraid to go down the zip line.

The two guys end up bonding when they talk about their fathers, family and kids. Julian admits he's ready to marry Brooke, but not so ready to have kids. Nathan tries to reassure Julian by saying that Jamie likes him.

While the boys are away, the girls will play.  Quinn bakes brownies using a recipe created by Taylor.  As Hayley is downing her third brownie, Quinn confesses that the "special" ingredient in the brownies is weed.  Hayley can't believe her sister would let her get high, but gives in and lets the brownies take over.  Quinn watches as Brooke becomes paranoid and Hayley just can't stop talking.

They call Quinn's psychic, Zelda, and ask her to come to Haley's house.  Haley asks about Nathan's career and Brooke asks about Julian. Zelda tells Quinn that there is a guy who needs her.  So Quinn leaves Hayley and Brooke alone and heads out.

As Quinn drives over to Clay's beach house, Clay is spending time with his dead wife.  He tells her that he still loves her and that he still feels the pain of losing her every day.  When Quinn arrives, he tells her to leave.  But then when he realizes he really is all alone, he runs outside in the pouring rain to stop Quinn from leaving.

Quinn asks Clay what they are to each other.  So he tells her all about Sarah and how he still loves her.

Meanwhile, we learn that Dan has been lying to his television fans.  He has led people to believe that he is dying.  But through flashback scenes it is revealed that Dan and Rachel went to another country so Dan could have a heart transplant.  Dan is feeling guilty and wants to confess the truth to his audience.  But Rachel says no.

Then, during a taping of his show, Dan sees a young man in the audience with blood dripping from his heart.  Dan passes out.  While he recovers, Dan asks Rachel where his heart came from.  She tells him it was from a boy on life support.  She paid his family and they pulled the plug.  Later, Dan tells Rachel he wants to take a vacation--home to Tree Hill.
