One Tree Hill: Episode 6.6 "Choosing My Own Way of Life" Recap (Page 3/3)

In a completely random, out of nowhere moment, Brooke (Sophia Bush) admits to Peyton that she did not get tangled up in laundry and fall down the stairs, but was actually attacked by a mugger.  I'm glad this confession finally happened, but it feels like it was thrown into the middle of this episode with no rhyme or reason.  The two share an emotional talk about the incident, and P Sawyer lets her friend know that she'll always be there for her.  While the girls bake cookies and gab about their childhood dreams, Peyton admits that she's met her real father.

Lucas may have bombed out in Omaha, but Mouth has the job he's always dreamed of.  He misses Tree Hill and his girlfriend, but at least he has the perfect professional life.  While they bond over the big changes in their lives, Owen tries to talk Nathan into joining the Slamball team.  I'm not sure if it's wise for a guy with a back injury to sign up for a brutal full-contact sport, but what do I know?

Peyton calls Lucas to check up on the book tour, and she's shocked and disappointed to learn that it's been canceled.  Afterwards, Mick apologizes for being a deadbeat dad before leaving town.  He also lets Peyton know that her mother's pregnancy stopped her from wasting her life away in an alcoholic haze, so that's nice of him.  Over at the diner, Brooke drops in on Sam and does her best to bond with the wayward teenager.  She offers to let the girl sleep in her spare room, and though Sam is a REBEL she reluctantly agrees to stay with her.

As the episode comes to an end, Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) receives flowers from Dan and tosses them in the trash, Mouth decides to return to Tree Hill, Brooke brings Sam home, and Nathan tells Haley that he wants to join the Slamball team.  She thinks it sounds a little dangerous, but it's the only opportunity Nathan has at the moment.  Let's just hope he doesn't end up bearded and in a wheelchair again.
