One Tree Hill: Episode 6.6 "Choosing My Own Way of Life" Recap (Page 2/3)
Dan (Paul Johansson) picks Jamie up at school, and soon educates his grandson about how there are absolutely no benefits to eating vegetables.  As awesome Grandpa Dan buys Jamie some ice cream, he sees Deb making out with Skills on a nearby bench.  He pulls her aside and thanks her for telling the parole board the truth about what happened with Carrie.  He also throws in a dig about her relationship and a quick mention of how he's dying of heart failure, because he just wouldn't be Dan if he didn't.  He seems to genuinely miss her, which is both sweet and odd.  After taking Jamie back to school, Dan runs into Nathan in the hallway where Keith was shot.  His son reminds him that he still hates his guts, even if he did save Haley and Jamie from the nanny of doom.

Lucas arrives in Nebraska and discovers that Lindsey won't be joining him on the book tour.  Instead, she's sent some douche of a guy who thinks that The Comet is a science fiction novel.  It's like her final revenge against the scruffy, indecisive scribe who broke her heart.  Over at Deadbeat Daddy Music Studios, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) is still under the mistaken belief that we care about her plot line.  She tells Mick that she doesn't want to see him again, but I'm sure they'll share a touching moment together by the end of the episode.

The only person who shows up at Lucas's book signing is a young girl who wants him to sign a Gossip Girl novel.  That, my friends, is absolutely hilarious.  Mouth (Lee Norris) also arrives to hang out, though even he doesn't seem to want a signed copy of The Comet.  While the two anxiously wait for someone to show interest in the book, Mouth takes a picture with a fan of his local sports segment.  Mouth is officially more famous than Lucas, at least in Omaha.  By the end of the day, Lucas's tour manager lets him know that the remainder of the tour has been canceled.  I guess he should have written a Gossip Girl spin-off instead.

Nathan gets a call from a guy who wants to offer him an opportunity to play Slamball.  Slamball is like basketball, only with more body checking and a few trampolines.  It certainly looks more entertaining than boring old basketball, which is why Jamie (Jackson Brundage) encourages his dad to go for it.  Skills also thinks it's a good idea, as does Owen, who is already on the team.  You may remember Owen from last season, or you may not since he didn't really do anything aside from flirt with Brooke and disappear.
