In a rarity for this season, Nathan plays with his son. Finally, some quality father-son time. That's cut short and things go back to normal when Nathan drops Jamie off with Lucas at the garage. The two spend the day going through Peyton's special box of memories for the baby, making Lucas sad and allowing Jamie to comment on what a funny-looking baby Lucas was. After the long day of walking down memory lane, Lucas returns home and agrees to marry Peyton ASAP.
Nathan takes off for his basketball game where an NBA scout is in the audience. Even Mouth's reporting is slow and lazy, keeping with the utterly comatose tone this whole episode has. After the game, Mouth tries to get a clue about what the scout thought, but he gets nothing because that might've accidentally made this episode interesting.
And in a storyline that even a ventriloquist's dummy can't save, Skills goes on his third date with Miss Lauren, which is usually the nookie date. However, Miss Lauren is stuck watching Chuck, the kid who tried to steal Madison from Jamie last week. Skills invites Chuck to tag along, which is the last mistake he'll ever make.
Chuck, who for some reason is a part-time ventriloquist, tries as hard as he can to ruin the date by acting like a spoiled brat. They go for ice cream, and just as Skills is about to make his move, Chuck barfs on his shoes. The only thing it proves is that Jackson Brundage is a genuinely talented actor, because this kid is pretty bad.
Skills returns home empty-handed because that annoying hoser kid Chuck totally c-blocked him. But then Miss Lauren knocks on the door to give Skills something he left behind - a huge kiss.
Next week on
One Tree Hill: It's the big wedding, and Brooke brings Nick Lachey as her date to make Julian jealous. The temperature also rises above 98 degrees for Mia and Chase, who agree to have slutty wedding sex. Half-naked Chase, Nick Lachey and awesome 98 Degrees puns? Thank you, teaser, for waking me up from this boring episode.
