Robert Sosebee Woods, who was born on March 13, 1948 in Maywood, California, joined the US Armed Forces and fought in the Vietnam war. He was educated at California State University and later pursued acting career. His television credits include The Waltons, Roseanne, Days of Our Lives and One Life to Live, where he plays Bo Buchanan. This portrayal earned him six Soap Opera Digest Award nominations and six Daytime Emmy nominations, one of which he won for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series.

Beaufort "Bo" Buchanan is played by Robert S. Woods in the soap opera One Life to Live. Bo is a Vietnam War veteran who followed his brother, Clint, to Llanview. There he worked in the newspaper publication The Banner, in replacement of Victoria Lord's ill husband, Joe Riley. Bo got involved with many women, however his relationships were not successful. He later became a police officer and met Nora Gannon, the attorney for Todd Manning's rape case. Nora and Bo developed a relationship and later got married.
