Chris Beetem, who was born Christopher Lapinski on August 8, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a graduate of Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. He appeared in the film Black Hawk Down and on television series such as Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Deadline and Hallmark's Grace and Glorie. Aside from acting, Beetem's interests are cooking, theoretical physics and quantum mechanics. He also likes to play the bass guitar, read, write and play basketball and Playstation 2.

Tate Harmon from One Life to Live is played by Chris Beetem. Tate was a former baseball professional who is currently an anti-drugs lecturer. He was later hired by Adriana Cramer and Layla Williamson to model the mens' underwear line of their clothing line named Exposed. Tate grew attracted to Adriana, thus creating a love triangle between her and her boyfriend Rex Balsom. It was later revealed that Tate was an arsonist and was soon arrested.
