Daytime star Nathaniel Marston, who plays Dr. Michael McBain on ABC's One Life to Live, ended up in the hospital after allegedly attacking three people and fighting with city police.

According to the police, the 32-year-old actor attacked his victims with a crate, breaking one man's leg in the process.  The attack reportedly took place on Sunday at 4:50am at 45th St. and 10th Avenue in New York.

Salvatore Cabbibo was having a cup of coffee when Marston got out of a taxi and started arguing with the driver.  For no clear reason, Marston charged at Cabbibo while swinging the metal crate.

"He was crazed - I don't know the guy from a hole in the wall," Cabibbo, 46, told the New York Daily News.  "I've never seen anything like that."

Nathaniel Marston then struck a glancing blow at Cabbibo, after which the actor ran to a nearby gas station, almost getting hit as he rushed through traffic on 10th Ave.

Police said that Marston appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, possibly cocaine, when they reported to the scene. When the police made their move to arrest him, the One Life to Live star began flailing his arms at kicking at the officers.

Marston was taken to Bellevue, where he was labeled an emotionally disturbed individual.  He has been ordered to appear in criminal court of the City of New York on February 4, 2008.  He will be facing formal charges that include one count of Assault in the Second Degree, three counts of Assault in the Second Degree, three counts of Menacing in the Second Degree, three counts of Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree and 1 count of Resisting Arrest.

"I don't want to talk to you, and please don't ever come to my home," Nathaniel Marston told the New York Daily News when they went to his house after he was released from the hospital.  The paper claims Marston was bare-chested and had a fresh bruise over his left eye when he answered the door.

This is not the first time Marston has gotten into trouble with the law. In 1999, he was arrested for criminal mischief after punching an ATM machine.

How this news will affect Nathaniel Marston's standing in One Life to Live is still uncertain, although a spokesperson for the network said that they “are aware of the incident and are reviewing the details.”
