Last week's episode of Once Upon a Time left us all devastated. Hook killed David's father. Now he is battling with the question of whether or not he should tell Emma the truth. "Ill-Boding Patterns" is all about building trust and crumbling trust. This episode is setting things up for several relationship fallouts as well as a major battle in the season finale.

Rumpelstiltskin finally tracked down Gideon. He and Belle want to keep him from killing Emma and stealing her power. There is a moment when it seems as though Rumple and Gideon connect. Rumple destroys that when he tries to dose Gideon with a memory potion. It was for a good cause, but it may have been better for Rumple to be honest with his son.

After Gideon steals Rumplestiltskin's dagger, he works on crumbling the few relationships he has. He learns that he needs the blood of the Blue Fairy to reforge the blade he needs to kill Emma. She is his fairy godmother and that is a very special relationship. Gideon had no problems watching Rumple steal the Blue Fairy's magic. Is Rumple really trying to help Gideon? Or is he just trying to gain his trust in order to prevent him from killing Emma? Rumple has done some pretty terrible things, but I don't think he would help his only living son do something evil.

Somehow the writers have found a way to bring Belle and Rumplestiltskin a little closer together. I really did not think it was possible. However, when Belle learned that Rumple darkened his own soul to save their son, she began to trust him a little more.

While Rumple is dealing with Gideon, Robin is trying to escape from Storybrooke. He steals Regina's magic despite the fact that she trusts him. He formed an alliance with Zelena and worked on getting out. Unlike Rumple, Regina was actually honest and connected with Robin. She promised she would do everything she could to get him out of Storybrooke. Maybe this is the first step in her forging a relationship with the new Robin.

This episode brought us broken relationships and renewed relationships. From Rumple and Gideon to the Evil Queen and Robin, a handful of relationships fluctuated. Next week promises a final showdown between Regina and the Evil Queen. It may bring out the truth about the death of David's father as well.

How do you think all the conflicts will play out? Between Regina and the Evil Queen, who do you think will win? How will Emma react when she learns about what Hook did to David's father? Has everyone forgotten about the fact that David and Snow are still under a sleeping curse? Let us know what you think in the comments!
