The world of Frozen
is growing larger on Once Upon a Time
. After casting for Anna, Kristoff and Elsa
, the role of Prince Hans has now been filled. And there's one bit of casting news that involes a non-human character.
Tyler Jacob Moore will play Hans when the fairy tale drama returns in the fall, starting with episode 3. This will be a recurring role for the actor. The character is described as "a well-bred prince with a serious chip on his shoulder."
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
co-creator and executive producer Adam Horowitz revealed the news on Twitter
: "Excited to welcome @tylerjacobmoore to #OnceUponATime as #Frozen's Hans. Hope you come meet him this fall in Season 4!"
In the story of Frozen, Prince Hans wanted to reign over Arendelle and tried to make Anna fall fall in love with him. His storyline in the movie ended when he was sent to the Southern Isles after Elsa banished him, so the question remains on how Hans will be involved. Will he try to stop Anna and Kristoff's wedding? Will he be one of the villains in season 4?
Moore is known for his role as Tony Markovich on the Showtime dramedy Shameless. He also appeared on the short-lived GCB, which starred Kristin Chenoweth.
Horowitz also announced
that John Rhys-Davies is joining Once Upon a Time
as well -- or, rather, his voice is: "We're thrilled to welcome John Rhys-Davies to the #OnceUponATime family as the voice of everyone's favorite rock troll -- Pabbie! #ThisFall!"
In the movie, the Troll King Pabbie rules the Valley of the Living Rock, and was given the task of trying to cure Anna when Elsa accidentally used her magic powers on her. For OUAT, Pabbie will obviously be a CG character, and is described as being "gentle, wise and the source of unexpected insight."
For those excited about Pabbie being on the show, unfortunately he's only scheduled for one episode, though they're not ruling out bringing him back for additional episodes.
Rhys-Davies is most well-known for playing the dward Gimli in the Lord of the Rings films and Sallah in Indiana Jones.
Earlier in the month, Elizabeth Lail landed the role of Anna, Scott Michael Foster was cast as Kristoff and Georgina Haig snagged the highly-coveted role of Elsa. Lost and Revolution alum Elizabeth Mitchell also signed on for the Frozen storyline, though it is unknown at this time what character she will be playing.
What do you think of these casting announcements? Is Tyler Jacob Moore the right actor to play Hans? And are you excited that Pabbie is coming to OUAT?
Once Upon a Time season 4 premieres Sunday, September 28 at 8pm on ABC.
