There is no shortage of princesses in Once Upon a Time. But Snow White and Cinderella should get ready for company in season 2: Once Upon a Time has cast two actresses to play brand-new princess characters. Keep reading for all of the details.
Both of the new girls on Once Upon a Time
will be familiar to fans of Disney animated films. EW.com
reports that Jamie Chung has been cast in the role of Mulan (a 1998 Disney film) while TVLine
gives us the news that Sarah Bolger will arrive in the role of Aurora, aka Sleeping Beauty (a 1959 Disney film).
Obviously, we're talking about the fairytale-land alter egos when we mention Mulan and Aurora as princesses. You don't find too many royal types around small-town Maine, after all. Like everyone else in Storybrooke, these two girls will have new names and identities in the real world. According to a report from E!Online
, Aurora may just morph into Anastasia, a spoiled rich girl. Mulan, meanwhile, will be Magnolia. This real-world equivalent is expected to be just as much of a badass as she was back in the fairy tale.
Jamie Chung has thus far mostly been known for movies like The Hangover 2
and Sucker Punch
. Sarah Bolger has both TV and film credits to her name. Most recently, she appeared in Showtime's The Tudors
in the role of Princess Mary. Sarah Bolger also starred as young Christy Sullivan, the central character and child narrator of the 2002 movie, In America
New casting is not the only change we can expect from Once Upon a Time
season 2. Now that the entire town of Storybrooke knows all about their enchanted pasts, things are certain to change. How will Emma deal with her newly discovered parents (who just happen to be her own age)? Will old relationships take the place of new ones? Will Regina be allowed to live in town at all?
And what about all that magic released by Mr. Gold?
I guess we'll find out when Once Upon a Time
returns in the fall.(Images courtesy of WENN)
