Once Upon a Time in Wonderland still has a few weeks before it premieres on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8/9C, but the show has made another important announcement. It looks like the show is about to add Iggy Pop to its list of guest voices.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

EW's Inside TV reports that the punk rocker has been tapped to voice the role of The Caterpillar in the series.

Original reports had another rocker, Roger Daltry, in the role, after he played it when Once Upton a Time visited Wonderland the first time. Unfortunately, it turned out that Daltry wasn't available this time around, leaving the network to look for a new voice to take on the role.

And what a voice it is. If you're going to put a voice to a character that is a hookah-smoking mushroom-perched insect, why not use someone known as "the godfather of punk"? Pop's songs may be full of energy (go have a listen to "Lust for Life" if you want some proof), but the singer himself is a pretty laid back kind of guy. His deep, gravelly voice sounds like it would be the right match for the role of The Caterpillar.

Pop joins some other famous names voicing roles in Wonderland, including John Lithgow as the White Rabbit and Keith David as the Cheshire Cat.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland will follow a new version of Alice as she navigates her way through Wonderland. First, she has to escape the evil doctors at the mental hospital - where she was put after telling her fantastic tales of a land with talking rabbits and caterpillars. Luckily, her friends the Knave of Hearts and the White Rabbit will be there to break her out before she loses all memory of the land where she belongs.

What do you think of the news that Iggy Pop will voice The Caterpillar on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland?
