Carolina Zorilla de San Martin is a 36-year old commercial director who hails from Santander, Spain and currently stays in Los Angeles, California. She moved to the United States when she was nine years old and grew up shuttling between New York and Santander. She graduated with a degree in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1993. Soon after, a commercial director took her in as a creative assistant, which gave her the initial opportunity to hone her passion for cinematography. She started filming and directing her own commercial projects as a freelance director in 1997, including an Emmy award-winning documentary where she worked as director of photography. Among her favorite directors are Michel Gondry, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee and Bernardo Bertolucci.
Carolina Zorilla de San Martin was among the eighteen finalists on the reality filmmaking show, On the Lot. Zorilla de San Martin was the first finalist eliminated in the first week of finals, after her one-minute comedic short film, “Deliver Me” failed to garner enough votes.
