The CW Renews 'Breaking Pointe' and 'Oh Sit!'
Wednesday, September 26, 2012
The CW's summer experiment paid off for two of its reality shows. The network has officially renewed the game show Oh Sit! and the ballet docu-drama Breaking Pointe each for second seasons.
Breaking Pointe, which aired over the summer on the CW, followed the lives of a group of dancers at the popular Ballet West, a company in Salt Lake City. The show's six-episode first season only averaged around 800,000 viewers, but it did well online.
Oh Sit! Is a Wipeout-style game show based on musical chairs. The show had a huge premiere by CW standards with 1.23 million viewers and averaged about 1 million viewers per episode for its first season. Most impressively, the show held steady in the ratings even when competing against massive hits like The Voice and The X Factor.
Still undecided are the fates of the CW's two other summer shows, the Miami hotel docu-drama The Catalina and singing competition The Next.
