Val Kilmer will be kicking off the fourth season premiere of
Numb3rs when it returns on Friday, September 28 at 10pm ET/PT on CBS. Season 4 will also serve as a reunion ground for the 47-year-old actor and British director Tony Scott, whom he worked with on features like Déjà Vu, Top Gun and True Romance.
Created by Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton,
Numb3rs is a crime drama series that centers on Special Agent Don Eppes (
Rob Morrow) and his mathematical genius brother, Charlie Eppes (
David Krumholtz), who helps Don solve crimes for the FBI. The cast also includes
Peter MacNicol,
Diane Farr,
Navi Rawat and
Judd Hirsch just to name a few.
Scott's episode on
Numb3rs marks his network television directorial debut and also serves as a template that freshens up the production values of the show for the fourth season.
In the premiere episode entitled “The Mole,” Kilmer is set to play Mason Lancer, the brains behind the events of the third season that led to the discovery that Agent Colby Granger (
Dylan Bruno) was a mole within the FBI. Now that Granger has escaped from the custody of the FBI, it is up to Agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) and the rest of his squad, including his mathematician brother, Charlie (David Krumholtz), to track him down and untangle the mystery.
Aside from
Numb3rs, both Kilmer and Scott have other upcoming projects slated until 2009. Kilmer is set to appear in the miniseries
Comanche Moon and work on films like
Conspiracy, Columbus Day, and
Have Dreams, Will Travel.
Scott, on the other hand, is producing a string of movies, which includes
Law Dogs, Churchill at War, The Warriors and
Emma's War.
